Congrats, but unless they've changed the model it appears the description is in error, for one thing a 24" bull barrel should weigh more than 6 lbs, it should have a 22" standard barrel, that's how #72696 is listed at Bud's and the SB2-3T0 on H&R's site, lets us know whatcha actually get.

Quick you were correct it was a Handi.  I sent it back and ordered an Ultra in 25-06.

Really and truthfully a 20" bbl is really about right for a .308.  From what I've read at 20"  The powder has completely ignited inside the bbl.  And if you've ever carried around a 20" bull barrel you will never go back the other way.  The extra 4-6" will help a tad on velocity but IMHO losing the extra pounds is well worth the minor sacrifice.
