I agree on that request except just make it like the orgional sp101. 4" barrell and the orgional sights are perfect for me. I have one in 22lr but sure would love one in 22mag..  ;)

OK.           :-X

Let's compromise:               ;)

Bring it out in a 4" SP101 in both 22rimfire and 22mag ...       :)

and;            ;D

the new LCR [for teaching, training, and practice] in 22 rimfire.         :-*             ::)

All right everyone,  ... Please send this to Ruger ... just cut and paste! ! !         :o            8)

yup i agree! da revolvers in 22 of decent quality are extremely hard to find. i think a stainless 4 or 6" da 22 would sell good.maybe even a 6.5" model kinda like a k22.

And while You're at it Ruger............chamber a big Redhawk in 22 LR, or 22 WMRF, or better yet, 22 Hornet! (Yeah, right.....like they'd actually build those....wishful thinking)

The SP-101 initially was a small frame revolver for the 38 special. Bill Ruger thought it was a good platform for the 357 too but with the short frame, only 125 grain 357 ammunition could be used. Ruger made a larger framed SP-101 to accomodate 158 grain 357 ammunition but was sitting on surplus small frames for the SP. The 9mm, 22lr, 38 Special and the 32 mag were ways to get rid of the small frames and now that they're gone..........so are the calibers. I have a feeling that the 357 LCR will soon replace the SP-101.

And when yea send in your message to Ruger tell them that your having such a great time shooting your Smith, Charter Arms, and even your Taurus that your not sure that your are going to have any money left over to pay for the "new" Ruger .22.  I've sent in my reguest for a .22 DA Ruger at least once a year over the last several years.  I've been saving money for a .22 DA revolver, I'm almost there and could move pretty quickly on a deal if necessary, but I've kinda been waiting on Ruger too........not sure how much longer I'm gonna wait.....once a .22 DA is chosen I'm not likely to buy again anytime soon.......I can only aford to buy once for most items......don't change guns like I change underwear.....Ruger is likely to miss the boat and the cash......oh well.....I'll find something fun to shoot....there is the used market for a Smith.....NAA has their new top break model out now.......

They may stop making the SP-101 but in the hands of shooters it will never replace it.

Not to sir the pot but several years ago wal mart stopped selling pistols and my brother scored a ruger double action stainless 22 revolver.  It migh have been a fluke but after a couple years of owning and trying every ammo he could find he sold it.  I was hands donw the most horrid 22 pistol we'd ever held.  We both loved the look and feel but accuracy was terrible.  Several years smarted and older I would have now recommeded sending it back as I bet ruger would have made it right.   Live and learn.  SN  A good 22 revolver would be cool.
