Marlin .450 barrel, brass ejection problems
« on: October 15, 2010, 01:57:43 PM »
I have a .450 Marlin barrel, it has some case ejection problems. Some pop out, some don't. The little bottom ejector lever snaps out of the groove in the brass  on opening and leaves the brass in the chamber.
I'm VERY carefull when loading to be sure the ejector is engaged in the brass before closing the barrel.
I was wondering if others have had this problem and what was your fix, if any...
The chamber looks nice and smooth, clean and shinny . I am shooting cast bullets, Lee 340 grain, I'll have to look up the powder charge, off hand I cannot recall....The cases come out clean, no marks or scoring...
Thanks for any help you are able to offer !!    Papa Jack

Welcome to GBO Jack!!  ;) I'd start with an ejector tune as shown in the FAQs, R&R all parts and clean em good including the ejector housing, I'd replace the lifter spring, available from Brownell's or you can make one with springs from a good hardware store like Ace or True Value.
