Strange Handi

I picked up a very nice (near new) Handi at the CANDY SHOP yesterday.
It is a 243 (HY prefix-2008) with a cinnamon laminated thumbhole stock with a Marlin butt pad and a cheaper tasco 3x9 scope.
It has a 24" heavy barrel with a strange to me detail.
Where all my other barrels are stamped on the left with the caliber and other words such as Handi or Ultra OR Varminter this one is only stamped with 243 Win, nothing else at all.
I thought this a little strange or different.
I checked the #s on the lug and they match the serial on the frame.
Has anyone else run into this before?

Congrats on the new H&R LT!! I suspect a lot of things like that happened in the last days of Gardner, I have the same rifle that was made in 2007(HX), it's marked SB2 Ultra 243 Win (6mm AI now tho! ;D).

You are most likely correct.
Just never seen one with out anything stamped on them except the caliber.

THe barrel is probably a cheap Chinese import.  You know how the commie's like to copy our famous brand name merchandise. ;D
