Suggestions for customizing a Ruger SRH
« on: November 14, 2003, 10:51:32 AM »
I've got a SRH that has a few miles on it.  It's a shooter, but I'd like to make it more shootable and dress it up a bit.

I was looking at the Magnaport website and instantly started drooling.  I'd like to get the barrel ported, and re-crowned, and possibly velvet honed.

Does anyone out there have experience with these or any other customizing jobs?  Like to see pics if you have them and how they have improved the shootablilty of you piece.

Thanks,

I think Mag-Na-Port is one of the better sources for custom work. They did 2 Stalkers for me and was amazed by the difference. As soon as you cock the trigger you can feel the quality. I liked their website too. Just scroll down the list of available options like a kid in the candy store. The only limit is your budget. Have a great respect for those guys JD Jones and Larry Kelly who put their money where their mouth is.
