Did Greybeard's suffer an internet attack?
« on: October 24, 2010, 09:26:39 AM »
Off topic but I am wondering if security was compromised yesterday and this morning?
My software was seeing this site as a malicious attack site and did not want me to come on here,
when I ignored it and got to the site the background was white and things were screwed up a little and out of place,
I tried to send DD a pm and it would not let me do it.  Any idea what was going on?
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Actually as we understand it now one of the ad services that displays banner ads was hacked. The ad service has been turned off. Until Matt can get Google to remove the GBO alert in google, if you use Mozilla Firefox you will continue seeing the warning.

Interesting enough, the warning from me was only coming from Mozilla Firefox and only when I "block attack sites" check in the security.  When i went to IE, I got no warning.  After looking around a bit this morning I found the firewall in my  MacAffe Security suite was blocking the malware.

You can check and be sure with this malware search engine http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Please pass this message to any else you think might be affected.

It happens to ALL of 'em.

Using a good virus and a good malware program is a MUST for ALL of us.

I (now) use the one DD gave the link for (for malware) and AVG for viruses.  Both are good, and both are FREE.

Update them daily!

I've got Mozilla Firefox, and after around 6PM or so last night I'm OK.  Didn't have to change any settings.
