Great news...I been buying the Tula in 308win FMJ aim surplus has it for $119 for 500rds.  Its not coated like the other russian ammo is too. But i shoot the other russian brands too mainly because of price, it keeps us shootin.

Interesting.  As far as foreign ammo goes the Prvzi Partizan (I probably misspelled that :)) has always seemed the deal, but any new options are good.  I have to admit though that the Federal ammo Wal-mart has been selling lately is a heck of a deal.  Most of the common rounds are $12-15 per box, which ain't bad at all.  I was down-right depressed when I went there the other day to get some .270 150gr hunting rounds.  I pay $12 per box for the Federal.  All they had left was Remington Core Lockts, which were $20 per box :(.  Still bought them, but I hate paying more :).

Checkout aim surplus too most of the time i purchase 10+ boxes to cover the shipping costs.  Your right with the federal ammo because some of the costs are getting reasonable.  Years ago when i purchased my 338win mag i was buying ammo at $17 to $25 a box.  I think i still have 12+ boxes on the shelf.  Now its hitting $70 a box.  Gotta to stuff my own when that runs out.

On the other hand the prvi-partizan ammo is pretty accurate and still cheap.  Doesn't that sound famaliar??  The Sellier & Bellot ammo was affordable at onetime too right?  Buying the prvi-partizain ammo and shooting it once is cheaper than buying new brass, new bullets and primers to reload. We get the boxer primed brass plus we get to shoot it once, it makes sense to it cost wise?

Lets hope the ammo prices have peaked and maybe the'll come down now. ??? ::) ??? ::) ??? :o ::) ??? ;D

Maybe wally world will intervein and offer more imported ammo and cut our costs more?

Right now www.wideners.com has the russian barnaul ammo 7,62x54r 203gr soft point at $6 for 20rds. so lets not over pay, we need to stay on top of this.
