Brass shells

Anyone reloading slugs in brass shell. I have 18 BR&C 12ga brass hulls that use rifle primmers and not sure of the best use for them?

I've only loaded birdshot in brass shells. I needed to use 11 gauge card and fiber wads because the inside diameter of the brass shell is considerably larger than a 12 gauge bore. I don't know what sort of components you could rig up to hold a slug that would both fit the shell and fit the bore.

SE Ak,

I read in Handloader Magazine that you have to crimp the lips and use an overshot card on these loads.   If you send me your address via PM, I will photocopy the two articles and send them both to you.

I have loaded lee 1 oz slugs, used a blackpowder shot wad, over American Pioneer blackpowder substitute and have had some fun with it.  They shoot slow and relatively accurate out of both smooth and rifled bores.  The APP doesn't foul the barrel real bad like real BP does.  I haven't shot anything other than paper....  I just leave the shell lip slightly roll crimped and glue a card wad over the top with a hot glue gun.

Nah.....dont do it......just send that brass to me (HA).
I think if you are going to use any amount of roll crimp on brass you should seriously consider annealing the case mouth regularly to avoid splits of that pretty stuff.
BTW, I use 24ga. brass (cut down and neck sized) in my Snider.577 with round ball and conical.
