Not yet but I'll get one or two sooner or later.  Up here they're $289 I think.  Will build one up to match a couple 10/22's I've built up.

I think Ruger has set a new standard for UGLY with this one. I guess it could have been a some what practical platform if they had done differently but this one is just too UGLY for me to ever show any interest. Of course UGLY like beauty is in the eye of the beholder but that thing hurts my eyes.

I think Ruger has set a new standard for cool with the charger.  It is also very handy.  It is almost always in my truck.  The only thing it needs is a silencer.

The first time I saw a Charger I thought it was a gun I have no use for. I am a big fan of single shot handguns but just see no use for the Charger.
I am some what surprised at the popularity of the Charger, VQ has been making them but I have only looked at them in person at the shot show

Most folks won't spend the extra for the Volquartsen models but would easily do so for the Ruger.  I see many, not just here, saying they see no real practicality for the Charger.  Wonder if these are the same folks have but one gun for each practical use...  ;)  I'm darn practical in most purchases but I'm even interesed in the Charger.

I have plenty of guns that I have no use for.
I guess that never stopped me in the past... I have a Mech Tech unit that was shot only a couple of times... most of my single shot handguns get fired 2 or 3 times a year at the most...
Now you got me thinking about a charger...

Guess I'm with GB on this one.

If I'm going to go through the hassle to get a pistol--I want one I can carry----the rifle uses the Charger would see ---will be better served by a rifle---plus the rifle is cheaper.

I guess Ruger thinks they can make money on it---so we'll see.

Went to the shop and picked one up, held it (fondled) and thought this is ugly, but then again, it felt like it might be a hoot
to use, so I bit the proverbial bullet and bought it anyway.  My kids each have a 10-22 so if I get the urge to use a rifle I can
borrow theirs.  I am going to put a red dot sight on it and shoot away.  Thanks for all the responses.

NYS politicians, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the Charger is not legal to own in NYS.  Some BS about the magazine well being located in front of the trigger instead of in the grip ???  I was informed this at my local gun store when I inquired about the Charger that had been on the shelves not more than a month or two ago...One of the countermen informed me that they all had to be sent back to Ruger because of the aforementioned reason...Man, I hate politicians.  I love my hometown but NY blows.  18 more years until I can retire and leave.

Finally dried out last weekend enough here in NE to shoot some.  What a blast it is to shoot this thing.  Once on paper, easy enough to keep less than 1" at 25 yards.  Tried 3 types of ammo, all inexpensive Rem and Win, all cycled with no jamming.  It ain't the prettiest thing in  gun cabinet, but it is fun. Thanks. Jim

I got my Charger in today, and put a cheap Simmons 2 pr. on it.I couldn't give it a fair test with the wind blowing 20 and gusting to 40,but it sure is fun to shoot. The bipod helps alot(now if I could only fit one to my old Blazer to keep it still) The trigger is terrible, very gritty and about 7 pds.,but it still seem's to be accurate enough for now. When this Oklahoma wind dies down I'll get it out and try off the bench.    Digger

sorry i did not notice this thread and already posted a tread about the charger.

I just bought one and love it , its the most  accurate 22 i have ever owned . I am getting 1 ' groups with it,  even with the cheap walmart bulk ammo  but i do get some jamming . Its going to be fun using it for rabbits . I bought some CCI Mini Mags and i bet that takes care of any jamming i having  !!

I am wondering if anybody else has gotten or shot one of these recently? I am going to pick one up after I get my new sp101 this weekend. Also do you guys think it would be to overly odd to put a supresser on it? I want something that I can use squireel and rabbit hunting yet be able to dispatch strays here in the city quietly. Any thoughts?

I have one and have taken it and shot it on the bench a couple of times.  It will shoot pretty good groups, does not jamb, and it is not the heavy or cumbersome beast I thought it would be.

I shoot silhouette and had great thought of the charger.  Some of the guys I have talked to have had good luck with small groups needed for silhouette.  Mine did not shoot groups equal to my competition .22s, but I have not practiced with it either.

I have purchased a bolt buffer for mine.  When shooting even standard velocity ammo using the bi-pod, the muzzle jumped and groups were horrible.  Mine also has about a 4lb trigger.  Crisp, but heavy.  I need to do some work there.

I paid less for the charger than I did for one of my match TC barrels.  With a little bit of work, I think it will end up shooting as well.

I just thought that it was pretty neat deal.  I like my 10/22 rifle and thought why not have the pistol to match.  I threw a cheap red dot scope from Wally World on it and dialed it in over Christmas, that thing was bustin coke cans all over the place.  I guess I would say in my book it is practicle.  Shooting it is cheap and makes me happy, that is enough practicality for me.

I,m with GB regards the ugly, BUT I don't like scoped pistols in general. When my eyes get bad enough to need  a scope or a red dot , I may get one - Pete

wolf match works great. any of the 10-22 receiver parts fit, so trigger work is only a matter of money and parts swapping.
rifle barrels can be cut down if you come across used match barrels ...  only Barbie has more accessories. :)

 :P maybe add a selector switch.. and a drum.....can....and a foregrip....compensator..black stock....lose the scope. Now we're getting somewhere.

I have a Charger, and I love it! I put a long eye relief 4x scope of it, and can hit a cat's eye at 25 yards (A figure of speech!!!). Like you said, not everyone's cup of tea, but I like mine. I agree the muzzle jump is an issue, but when the kid runs a mag he doesn't worry about it, and his shots are all in a 4" circle so neither do I.

I bought it because it was different and I had some $$ burning a hole in my pocket from a 30-30 I had that I sold because I have tendenitis in both of my shoulders can not handle high power rifles. I made very good profit on the rifle too, so I have not that much in the Charger. The only issue I have is some FTF with the $40 aftermarket mag I bought that I was told would eliminate the problem. Oh well, I can live with it.

My brother likes it, but he shoots it standing like a regular pistol, mostly because he can shoot it that way just as accurate as me on a bench. Seems he enjoys outshooting me with my guns, but then agian, he did qualify for spot #3 for the Ohio State shootting team when he was in college, but he turned it down.

I swear by mine...
$220 dollars at a show, 20 dollars for parts to fix up the trigger(no overtravel, smooth and about 2 lbs)
Ditch the bipod and go with a sandbag and it gets me 25m shot groups that can covered by a dime when I don't screw it up...
Bad balance for offhand, but if you can brace it...for sub 300 dollars...wow!
The groups are with federal bulk ammo.
yes my scope cost more than the gun.
Burris 2x7 Posi-lock...which will migrate to my contender.

I like the look...but then I chose the blue stock...so judge me if you will.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
