Barrel with shim vs value

Hey guys,

So I purchased a 223 bull barrel about a year ago of the GBO classifieds.
It didn't fit my SB-2 frame well and I ended up putting in a shim per
instructions on this site.  Locks up great and shoots sub-moa.

My question is, if I were to ever sell this barrel in the future, because
it has been shimmed, will that effect it's selling price?

Most of the time they will need to be shimmed ,so IMHO it makes no difference in the price. (Fitting dose) how ever will matter,i.e. filing on lug . 26-t

Depends on the buyer, some guy's are fussy and they can pass on it, others might snap it up??
If all you did was add a shim, removing the shim will put it back to original right?
When/if you sell, simply mention it's history like you have here, list for the going rate and adjust from there depending on how great your need is to sell.

I have a bull in 1-12, it's fun ta shoot !  ;D

There is a hight tensile strength tape made by 3M, it's light olive in color.  I have it for masking areas on my boat prior to gel coating.  When pulling it off I was amazed how strong it was for it's thickness and I thought to try it on my Handi's.  So far it has surpassed my expectations.  The beauty is it can be peeled off easily.  I only shoot lead up to 24K PSI pressures and it works beautifully for my application. 

I also noticed an aluminum foil tape for doing ductwork in Wal-mart. I didn't buy any but that should work for some. 

Even if a lug is epoxy shimmed it can be carefully filed down to fit.

I think the real determining factor(s) here are, as said, when the shim comes off is the lug 'as original'
and/or 'is the work decently done'. There is a great difference in workmanship and the way some people go at gun parts with files and grinders quickly can make a 'sow's ear'.

I myself, would pass on a shimmed barrel. Yes they can be made to work well, but I would always wonder the history of the barrel. I have 4 frames and they are all really short, so every barrel I have fit, I have to remove a quite a bit of material to fit them, which is fine by me because I like to true the back of the barrel and take the material off the latch, not the lug.
