Does anyone have any experience with Green Mountain barrels on BPCR?

I have.

I used one on the plains rifle I build,and getting ready to put one on a Springfield action I been putting together.It's a straight shooter.

Yes it is Marsh.I been picking up parts at gunshowsand ready to whittle out a stock and screw on the barrel.It's going to be a .50-70 when I get it build.I checked out that web page it's a good one .Thanks Marsh.

yep, I've a 34" round Green Mountain barrel in 45-70 on a vintage rolling block and my partner has a 30" octagon in 40-65 on a rolling block action.
Both have excellent accuracy and easily shoot with the guys with the $3,000 rifles.

Hi Marsh.
Dixie is a good place for parts,I have used them several times.
A friend used a trapdoor action for a .40-65 with a hunk of timber on it mothing fancy but it's a good shooter.I just thought i would throw one together.I have the other halve of a piece of sugar maple with good tiger curl in it I used for the Plains rifle I build so I figured it would be a good place for it.
Still got that Italian Sharps reciver laying hear trying to decide what to do with it,heck it might turn out being something like you never seen before,mebe like a upsidedown scheutezen gun

Rick,
I put a .45-70 BPCR Green Mountain barrel on my original Ballard #4 action. It's a 34" which I turned to half octagon, and it's one of the best shooting single shot rifles I own. It will shoot 1" groups at 100 yds all day.
The GM barrels are the best bargain on the market today!

How long did it take you guys to get your barrels from Green Mt. after you ordered them? Im thinking of getting 2 from them instead of waiting 20 weeks at Badger barrels.

I bought my GM barrel from Brownells and got it in 5 days.

I don't know how many they keep in stock, but Track of the Wolf carries the BPCR barrels by Green Mountain, too, and they have them listed considerably cheaper than Brownell's. I'm getting ready to order a couple right after the holidays, a .45 for my roller and a .22 for my Stevens 44.
