limber box tool box

anybody ever built a truck tool box that looked like a limber box??     green, handles, copper top??   I am thinkign about building one. for my new truck I need to build some smaller mortar boxes anyway.


any thoughts??

I've never made a tool box to look like a limber chest, but I did build a hope chest for my God daughter based on the limber chest design.  It turned out real nice.  The wood is Jatoba.  It has a leather top instead of copper but is secured with copper nails.  It has the same dimensions but is 4" taller.

Found some more pictures.  I lined the inside of the top with cedar.  The top was ribbed to accept a 1/4" piece of plywood to secure the leather to.

If you were going to make a tool chest for your truck, I would think it needs to be made of treated wood.  Not much fun to work with but it really stinks to put so much work into something which will rot out in a couple of years.
