A true believer
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:09:25 PM »
Was out tonight to wring out my 16" 6.5 JDJ barrel and scope set-up and holy freakin'wow !!! I'm now a true believer in the JDJ barrel system and the accuracy that can be obtained if the case prep,load data etc... is adhered to.
 sighted in at 50 yards shooting 129grn Hornady SST's over 32 grns of IMR 4320  put 5 in nearly the same hole after a minor scope adjustment. Then went to 100 yds  ya could cover 3 shots with a nickle out there..... then the fun began-I shoot over a peat bog that's 175 yds.wide and have a target out at roughly 165 yds. well there happened to be a few golf balls and rocks littered around(a co-worker uses the area as his driving range also). I figured I'd try and hit those golf balls and rocks-well I hit everything I took aim at !!!  Man what fun-I've never shot a more accurate caliber let alone handgun(16 inch brl.no less). Just goes to show that ya can buy happiness(well Ya get what ya pay for) especially with JDJ stuff---TOP NOTCH !!

 Now I am truly ready for the upcoming Pa. rifle season.     Enough of my ramblings.    SAS98M

Yeah,  After last night I now see why these barrels are the talk of the Contender world;and why they retain their value....
   I don't think I'll be getting rid of mine any time soon.
What's in the 309 JDJ ? Are they "all that" ?  What are they-case wise,load etc ?

@SAS98M

The 6.5 JDJ has been almost supernatural for so many of us, we take the performance for granted until someone like you gets one and reminds us all again how lucky we are to be owners ourselves.

Thanks for your report - we all enjoy hearing about great 6.5 JDJ successes!

My 6.5 JDJ barrel is 21 years old and shoots just like yours does, even now.  I know there are a lot of other 6.5 JDJ owners that visit this site that know just what you're talking about as well.

Only one problem. . .you can't have just one JDJ. . .your disease will progress rapidly from here my brother. . .I'm sorry to report that there is no cure. . .

Anyone that would say anything bad about the 6.5JDJ probably has never had one. I have a 14" and 20" tube. Both are super accurate and will kill beyond their means.  8)

The 6.5's have an uncanny way of killing good.
I sure like my 6.5's and use them for a lot of different things.
