My Savage project
« on: November 10, 2010, 09:11:08 AM »
Ok here's what my Stevens 200 looks like now.

I was going to put a McRee stock on it, but i'm cheap, looked at their pics, bought $50 worth of
aluminum, turned it into a 5 gal pail of aluminum shavings this is what was left. Threw some Krylon
on it and called it done, it's my coyote/long range (little gun) rifle. 243 Win. Shilen barrel, 6-21X
Simmons scope (not bad for $$$). Bi-pod and a scope level. $700 out the door.
She'll shoot 1/2MOA. I run out of scope at 950yds, need a scope with a few more MOA to make an
honest 1000yd rifle out of her. Not real fancy but it works.

Here's her big brother, 300Win Mag shilen barrel, 6-24x Burris, Boyds thumbhole stock.
Thanks to the $1000 scope this one was about $1700. Shoots 1/2MOA , have made hits
with it to 1500yds so far, don't have the mile target up yet.

And her hunting sibling, 25-06 Adams and Bennett barrel, 3-9x Sightron, factory stock
Krylon camo, all metal Cerrakoted. Shoots 1/2MOA (are we seeing a pattern)
