Missed a good deal today
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:41:35 AM »
I decided against going to a firearm auction not too far from home this morning to go hunting instead. I passed up a small 8 pt. this morning bow hunting. At the auction somebody got a great deal for $175- two barrels, 357 mag and 28 ga. shotgun on a nice SB2 frame and blonde wood stocks, an HK serial number.   :(

Firearms come and go, kind of like fickle girlfriends. Had you chosen not to go hunting, you never could have recovered this day in the field. You'll never forget letting that 8-point walk.

Good idea Jeff! I am sure another Handi will appear sooner or later.  It seems in this part of the world, used Handis are not too frequent, but at that auction place they do sometimes show up and it just depends who is there if the bidding goes high or low.

You could probably offer a hundred profit and get the gun but saveing Bambies dad is priceless

SE AK. yeah that was a good deal for the guy.

My goal for this year is to take a deer with 357 mag revolver.  I regularly let small bucks walk since I have two 10 pointers on the wall. I would rather take a doe for the freezer and let the small bucks go for another year.

Ive missed, or passed up a lot of 'good deals' though the years. Its all just stuff. You werent there and cant change it now, it wasnt meant to be anyway or you would have chosen differently.
BTW, sounds like you have a habit of makin' good choices!
