I'm using the Sellier and Bellot 196 gn cutted soft point in the 8mm Mauser and am gunning for whitetail with it this year.  The two brands, PRVI and S&B are nearly identical enough so I doubt you would notice any difference between the two.  The performance of the 8mm on whitetail is excellent.  I have already taken two Russian Boar with my 8 and the S&B load and it drops them drt.  A lot of folk I know refer to the 8mm as a Stag and Boar cartridge, and it sure is. jmtcw.

I have never used the Prvi 8mm, so I cant comment on that particular load, bu I will say I have fired several thousand Prvi .308 FMJ's in my various 308 rifles with complete satisfaction.  It is well made, fairly accurate, and relatively inexpensive ammo.

The Priv-Partizan ammo is decent when it comes to accuracy.  The former yugo brass is very good to reload too.  I would think the 196gr would drop any game in north america too.  The priv-partizan ammo is the last of the affordable ammo.  Most of the other brands like wolf gold, FNM and Igman brands is priv-partizan ammo.

Like Mikey says the Sellier & Bellot ammo is good stuff too.  I found it to be very accurate but in cost its been climbing over the past few years.  But i think its one of the top imported ammo's quality wise.  The winchester white box metric ammo is made by S&B.

I've used the PMC 170gr soft point in most of my 8mm mauser bolt actions and in my semi auto's with good decent accuracy. Just a tad lighter for white tails.

Well I got a small buck(150 pounds ,8 point)with my old Mauser and the PrVI load.I shot the deer at 125 yARDS and the deer ran 150 yards after the hit. Hit the deer right behind the shoulder and it exited behind the hind quarter, Entrance was 1 1/2 and exit was 2 1/2 . only got one lung becasue of the angle . Happy with my buck taken with the old rifle and PrVI factory load.
