Building an AR-10
« on: January 06, 2011, 06:49:44 PM »
I came across this company which has parts kits for fitting with Armalite lowers that look very price attractive at ~$520.  (Lowers are going for ~$250 on gunbroker.)  Anyone had experience building an AR-10 on an Armalite?  Is there much more difficulty than building an AR-15?

I really dont know for sure but I would imagine that they are quiet simular.  When you consider that the AR 15 is basically a scaled down AR-10, I m thinking that other than some minor differences they should be much the same.  I will definitely be watching this thread as I am currently putting together and AR 15 and have given some thought to doing an AR-10 as well, especially if with an Upper Swap, I can change calibers like I can on an AR-15.  If thats the case then the FAL may find its self spending more time in the gun safe and less time out in the field.
