Ruger 10/22 Base 3/8" dovetail???

I bought a new scope and rings for my ruger 10/22.  When I tighten the rings down on the base they are cocked.  The base is about a 1/16 too wide for the rings.  I have a ruger factory supplied base.  Is this base 3/8" or 11MM?

Combination Weaver® and tip-off Ruger® 10/22® scope base adapter uses tip-off or Weaver®-style rings.


  Do you have rimfire (tip-off) style rings or Weaver style rings?

I had tip off rings.  I have the old style base.  I bought a set of Millet Angle Lock and they fit fine.  I had a centerpoint scope.  I believe the mounts that came with my scope was the problem.
