Got a doe permit for 6R management unit today. How's everyone else doing in drawing a permit?

I always get one in 3P. Where I am the number of hunters is shrinking and the deer population is rising. life is good.

got my license today and got one for 6a. I had 4 preference points so I figured I was ok.

Like Bubba said dmp's are scarce in our area,I'm in 6c lost $10 last year w/3 p.p dont even think I'll bother this year. I also read they also cut the amount issued to half that of last year for 6c.

Got one for 6G. Spotted the doe I'm going to shoot later in my garden again, eating brussel sprouts.
With my luck, the DEC will consider it baiting.
Noticed in the manual that we still can't shoot crows tues, wed, or thursdays. For the life of me. I can't figure that one out. I'll just have to put the stuffed owl in the garden on tues, wed, and thursdays. What a pain.  haha.

Danny-L I iwll be hunting 6c this year.  I guess my 6a may go to a friend to try to fill in 6a.  Where abouts in 6c may I ask? With 3 pp I would apply. I did last year got turned down, then got one in the second mailing due to the PP. According to my town clerk last year when I got turned down, she said I would likely get one mailed.

I would Bubba but I'm still recovering from a qaud fusion(7weeks) in my lower back and doc gave me restrictions, one is low recoil, and not going out to much to over do it,wet/snow covered slippery ground,so I will be shooting my 223 this year mostly from a box blind, where we hunt private land the does are just making a comeback anyway. But if that helps for future years I'm all for it,been 8 years since I could realy pound the woods here in Russell.

Hermit:  LOL on your Brussel Sprout stuffed venison.  One year we had a early snowfall here and the plow pushed up a nice firm berm just under one of my Apple trees and this early season well buffed 6 pointer decided to take advantage of the, umm, higher ground.  I mentioned to him that if he continued I would enjoy Apple stuffed venison but he paid me no mind until I put the 12 guage to him.  Apple fed or Apple stuffed venison is delicious.

I picked up my tag at the local wal-mart only to be told they could not issue me my landholders tag/permit as they did not have that option on their DMP service, so I called EnCon the next morning and received my landholders tag on Saturday.  The EnCon staffer who assisted me advised me to go to either a full service sporting goods store as they tend to have more options available, or to go to the Town Clerk, which I will do next year.

Best of luck to all of you this year.

I filled my 6a tag last weekend and my buck tag 10/30 with a nice 8 point.  I am out of tags untill late muzzleloading.
