.357 max Coyote bullet
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:35:48 PM »
I know the maximum is not a popular coyote gun. But since I set my H&R rifle up I really like shooting it ;D. I have been using mostly 180 gr for deer and accurate to 150yds. Wondering if there is a lighter good shooting bullet?

I am not concerned with hides. I just want them exterminated. Wayyy to many running around our neck of the country. Take the dogs out in the morning, can hear them calling from all direction >:(

What kind of bullets and loads do you all recommend say out to 100 -150 yards.

Yes I know there are better calibers. I have my .223 set up and ready. But if there is more than one of us going I will need 2 guns.
Thanks

Lonny

You may want to try one of the 125g JHPs or even a JSP in that weight range , both will have good down range energy and will expand very well at the speeds you will be pushing them at .

And there is always the old stand by - 158g which shoots very well in any 357 , mag or max .

Lonny,
Do you want the hides?  Lighter bullets are gonna be explosive, the 158 SP will be better maybe the mid weight 140's could prove a good performer... Even the 180 SSP is a great all around bullet if your not wanting the hides...

If your not consirned about hides what Stimpy said. Give the 125`s a try. If they work they will leave very large holes. I would recomand the litest bullet you can get good accuracy from.

Thanks guys. I have some 158's and will get some lighter ones to try also. I don't care about the hides.

The little neighborhood we live in in the country, is surrounded by these turds in the early morning our. They normally do not bother me, but its sounds like they are coming in closer and more of them. Plus when I let my dogs out in the morning, The yotes really scream and make my dogs go nuts. Plus just sends chills up my spine.
