Tracker II 20ga and a soggy day doe

Raining hard when the alarm went off yesterday morning, started to taper off around noon. Started to see some blue sky and sunshine about one o'clock. A buddy and I got permission from a local college to hunt some of their land. A little over 1000 acres. Scouting has been minimal. I decided to go walk some old logging trails, light on and off showers the rest of the afternoon. At about 4:30 I was headed back out, When I looked up and noticed a doe in the middle of the logging trail about 50 yards in front of me with it's head turned looking at me. She didn't seem particularly spooked, so I raised the Tracker II put the cross hairs on boiler room and squeezed the trigger. Bang flop! The lightfield did its duty. Meat in the freezer!

Thanks Bob,second year in a row the tracker II has produced for me. You might not even recognize the Tracker any more. She's wearing a Cinnamon laminated MC stock set I bought from fredster and a Simmons Pro Diamond master series 4X32 now. Haven't heard from you in a while hope all is well.

  Spikehorn show us a pic. of that gun. I might know where there is an unfired USG. BSA huntsman scope and sling on it. Arthritis has got the best of me. I have to hobble around with the cane now. I do a little squirrel hunting but no more deer hunting. Enjoy the holidays.

I took my fifth deer in two seasons with my Tracker ll 20 gauge this morning at 96 paces.

Hit the fat little spike buck right where I was aiming behind the shoulder and he piled up about 30 yards from where he stood.   Also during the spring and summer it accounted for about 20 hogs of various sizes.

I'm only shooting Remington Buckhammers because they are just too scary accurate out of my gun to change, and the price is right also.

When I first got it and started looking for the right load, I tried a couple different brands of sabot slugs and there just wasn't any comparisson to how the Buckhammers performed as they will go all into the same hole if I do my part, so I have no intentions of changing.

BTW, I forgot to add, that I love that little 20 gauge slugger.

Jimbo mine is the same way with the lightfields. when I bought it it came with 4 boxes of them I had it drilled & tapped and put a Tru Glo 2x Red dot on it and put 3 shots into 2 holes touching at 75 yards. Ya know what they say "If ain't broke don't fix it" I got another big fat doe with it yesterday. We were setting up the 1st drive of the day and jumped 8 deer. They were headed to my left, Found a shootin lane saw the 1st deer in my scope, waited when the 2nd deer hit my scope I fired. Hit her a little further back than I like but put a big hole through her liver. Had a good blood trail she went about 80 yards and piled up.

My son got a buck Thanksgiving afternoon, We tried to convince mom to do back straps rather than turkey, but she already had the turkey in the oven.
