Shotgun scope on rifle??

This may be a stupid question.    Can I put a shotgun scope on a 357maximum rifle?  Is the shotgun scope made different to handle a large thud instead of a shotgun compared of to quick jolt of a rifle?  I know it is only a 357 so the jolt isn't going to be that bad?   Thanks

It should be fine.  The only difference is that there is a longer eye relief and the parallax is at 75 yds rather than 100yds which really does not mean anything to the average shooter.  I know it does not mean anything to me.

Jim is correct.  There is no harm done to the scope, just longer eye relief and shorter parallax distance.  I use them on rifles since I prefer low-powered variables.

I have a VX1 shotgun scope on one of my Topper 30-30's (1-4x20mm) with heavy duplex reticle. It works fine and keeps my rifle light.

  Will be fine. I have a liking for the Simmons Pro Diamonds. I have one on my .357 Max also my .44. Until recently also had one on my .223.

I use the Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32 on several rifles.  It's the very best Handi Rifle scope IMO.
