Colt Diamondback .22 caliber revolver value?
« on: February 16, 2004, 12:23:35 PM »
I have a blued Diamondback with a 6" ventillated rib barrel.
The gun is in pristeen condition and has been fired less than 100 times.
I'm aware that Colt discontinued this pistol a couple of decades ago.
Does anyone know its value?

Thanks.

More than you paid for it!

I will be watching for answers also, I too have a 6" !

What type of ammo shoots best in yours?

Mine likes Winchester solids or HP.

Bill :  100% on the diamondback (per the blue book ) is $450 if in nickle with 6in. barrel add another $150 manu. 1966-1986. with that in mind it is worth shopping around as I believe it will bring alot more to the right person they are a wonderful pistol I had one in the 4 in model and have just recently let it go to a good friend. :D    JIM

Thanks guys.

BS...I've shot so few.22's through mine since I purchased it that I really cannot tell you what it likes best.
I bought it in the mid 70's for a target gun. Around the same time I also purchased a octangular-barreled Contender pistol (with octangular Lobo scope) and a S&W .22 Kit Gun in stainless steel (mod.17?).
The S&W became my knock about gun and the Contender became my target pistol. The Diamondback has remained in the gun safe all these years.
I don't want to sell it or any of my other guns.
Every time I let one go I am later astounded by increasing value.
And, you cant' get guns without ugly-looking warnings carved into them anymore.
I plan to shoot the Diamondback. It is a beautiful gun.
