I'm just going by memory  But I remember reading a long time ago that a in-line breech plugged rifle was available as much as 150years ago. But, it was expensive to produce, so they were pretty much non-existant. If this "is so", I haven't figured out what the "beef" is with the in-lines. I can understand nostalgia. If CF's theoretical rifle existed, I doubt it would fly with the BATF, as far as a muzzle loader is concerned. I don't care one way or the other. I do what the law lets me do and call it good.
In my state, hunting with a firearms require blaze orange. When the "traditionalist" start wearing blaze buckskin's, I might put in a request for a separate season
P.S. one has to remember the round ball was the norm for a long time before the conical! Also, how many traditional shooters use match locks??? just curious  None of which is worth critisizing each other over
