Lenons Muskrat lure really increased my catch!!!

All the sloughes/lakes around here have come up about 30 feet.I can't wade out to the concentrations of rat houses,the water is too deep.I'm running floats with 2 traps.I ordered some Lenons Muskrat lure from Bogmaster.Lenons lure is running slightly over 50% more muskrats per set than any other muskrat lure I'm using.I have been alternating between 3 commercial muskrat lures and Lenons is kicking butt.I have to work tonight and tomorrow night then have a stretch of days off.I'm going to pull and reset at least 2 lines on new water.All the sets are going to be with Lenon's.The other rat lures are going to get mixed in with ground fish paste for coon bait.I may smear a little Lenon's Muskrat lure in my whiskers so I can smell it all day long while resetting lines.I put a dab behind each ear last evening before I went out with my lady friend and she took one whiff and paid for supper when we went out to eat.

Bill,I have a good supply of all Lenon's lure on hand--the rat lure is also a killer on coon.

I too love lenon's rat AC and go through 4-8oz. per year.  During open water rat trapping I set everything blind the first day then lure on the first check and let stand for 1-2 nights.  I believe it increases my rat catch on the second check, especially with competition.  It also puts a few coon in the canoe.

Thank you all for using Lenon's Muskrat Super All Call and for the positive comments. I literally have a bushel basket of testimonials on that lure and since it was first developed in 1950 there have been only two trappers in 60 years that complained that it wasn't any good.
Just a bit of history on that lure, my Dad brought home 4 muskrats to experiemnt with and placed them in 30 gallon oak barrels with newspaper in the bottom. All 4 rats quickly constructed rat houses out of the newspaper and went inside. Dad started throwing in foods that muskrat were already know to like but every time some food landed in the bottom the rats would just stick the tips of their nose out and smell quickly retracting back inside. After about 4 days of throwing in one thing after another and none of the rats had eaten anything Dad said if they don't eat by tomorrow I'm going to take them back where I got them and release them. As usual, everytime I passed the barrels I would throw something in. I was eating something when I passed that afternoon and threw in a piece when the first rat raced right out of the house and devoured it quickly. I tried a piece in the next barrel and got the same reaction and then also got the same reaction at the 3rd and 4th barrels. I went running to find Dad to tell him about it. I'll have to break down all of the ingredients in that food and isolate the one that they go so crazy over. It wasn't too long and Dad had it isolated and it became the secret ingredient in the rat lure every since. It was just pure luck to find something that way and I would doubt that any other lure maker will discover it in my lifetime. When I advertised for years that it contained "a secret ingredient used by no other lure maker" that is a fact I'm sure. I've been told by several large trapping supply dealers that Lenon's Muskrat lure outsells all other lure makers muskrat lures combined.

you cant go wrong with any of lennons lures. i once caught a 45 lb beaver on his fox call lure over 100 yards from the water

Thats interesting Fishdaddy that a beaver was interested in a fox lure, must be some ingredient in there that beaver go for.
The muskrat lure is also used as a change-up beaver lure by many trappers, grey fox lure, coon lure and mink lure.

My first experiance with your lures came back in the 70s when we had fox, they were worth some money and everyone was out trapping. No one shared much information then and if someone had a secret they kept it. I was trying my best to be a fox trapper and a fella that sold lure here locally handed me a jar of you Fox Call All. Being he was a trapper too he said I'm only letting you on to this lure because I know you'll never trap next to me.
So now all these years later I have a selction of your lures and have caught fur with all the ones I have. I know you never do the convention thing, so one of these days I'm going to get a bug in my butt and drive up there to Michigain and say HI!

I can't trap yet in my state as they require a fish and game trapping course to be taken before they issue a license.  I will be predator hunting and calling though.  I was wondering if anyone has used scent lures with a calling set up?  I figure it couldn't hurt and may work well with the caller and a visual decoy.  Any one with any experience?
