any archery deer yet?
« on: September 24, 2010, 10:31:08 AM »
I have only got to go a couple of times so far. Saw a doe with 2 young ones at about 100 yards. That has been it so far. I think it is just to dang hot here. It has been in the 90's every day.

My son took a doe after work opening day.  I haven't been out yet.  Looks like it will be two weeks before I can fix that.

I am about to give it a try again. I saw a total of 6 yesterday (4 does, a spike and a 4 pointer) but none no where near in range.

I let 7 small bucks walk [not all the same day] before I put one in the freezer from 43 yards, he was small also I just got tired of letting them go by! I put a yearling doe down yesterday @ 18 yards.

Hello! I haven't been on the Missouri forum much, but am from mid-Mo.
Two of my brothers scored nice bucks during the archery season so far. My younger brother took a 173 incher near Wooldridge (Cooper county, I think) near the end of September. My older brother took a very nice ten (eight with a couple stickers) point that scored 141 3/8 inches on our farm in Osage county the evening before the youth hunt.
I'll put the pics on a seperate post on this forum.
