S510 Food Safety Act Passes
«

The title says it all. Sen cantwell, (WA-D), assure me in her response, that home gardens and organic farms were not in a one size fits all Bill. Hard to tell after reading the Bill in the other, earlier Post. Too many "struck outs" in there. I do have to wonder though, did they seek help in "food control" from kim jong il ??

What else do we expect from the liberal regime currently in power, make a last shriek on the retreat? They can pass a Food Safety Act but they do nothing on tax cuts for the American people.

Sen cantwells response to me was, "this is not a one size fits all Bill when it comes to home and organic gardens". This I believe came as a knee jerk reaction to the egg scare last year. However the Bill mentions domestic production and I found NO specific mention of private vs commercial operations. The prior topic on this had a link to the Bill and I couldn't find it. I'll look again for the post with the link. My concern to our sens. when i contacted them was about possible intrusion into home vegetable gardens, and if a person wanted to grow an acre or two of feed corn for stock. Of course with a generic response letter, that had a more personal paragraph, her answer was kind of vague I thought. Just seems to me that once the gate is open, there is a bit of wiggle room to get more through.I can honestly say that my trust of the past few administrations has been slight. YMMV

PAT/RICK. Thanks. I remember back many years ago the State of ILL considered taxing family garden plots but dropped the idea amid strong protests. POWDERMAN.
