PJ,

I am surprised that you haven't figured out how to cure you conterderencoreitus.  listen to me now ok and you will have all four of your barrels.  Skip 2 months house payments, max out the visa card, make no vehicle paments for 2 or 3 months,  then eat noodles every meal for about half a year.  Presto, your cured.  Worked for me

C'mon guys? don't any of you have a relationship with a gunshop? I have to constantly buy TC barrels too. I hold out for used ones. You'd be  surprised at teh number of neat ones I acquired. a 6.5JDJ and dies for $125, a 358JDJ Hunter (recham) and dies for $135 and the list goes on . a 10" 44 Mag bull for $100. Many others. I now have only 15 total and 4 Encores, but I'll get more, Tax time is coming. Start visiting and BS-ing at your favorite shop. Most of these bbls were not shot. The owner of teh 358 said recoil was unmanagable--my gain. New is very expensive, and sometimes it is the only way to get what you want at teh time. By what you can when you can. The good ones will eventually appear. My shop holds and gives me 1st dibs on teh TC stuff. It's nice to have a friend! Also, I see on some other sites that guys want new prices for used stuff. It just aint gonna happen to someone who knows prices. My shop knows that. It's easy for me to kick him somejuder the table to get this service. A Saturday lunch sandwich has paid off numerous time, over and over. Good luck.  Go for it.

Topgun, The only gunshop in my area that has used barrels wants at least  $175 for them [The owner is not very friendly]. The gun show prices are not any better. I keep hearing about great deals but  I can never find any. Lone Hunter

Hey Lonehunter, keep on him. In my experience they are like used car salesmen, sometimes worse. I do understand tehy have to make a living, but never undestand why they have to make a killing on everything? On stuff like that, they usually get it real cheap, stating to the customer, the market is soft and they can't sell it--so the buy it or trade into it and then tell a prospective buyer there are guys standing in line waiting to buy it first. Ya know what--let em keep it! I NEVER pay more than $50 less than a new one. Why should we, but if it already has dies or scope mounts/rings, that has to be taken into consideration. Hold out, they usually move when you flash the cash.Good luck.
