Looking for east coast hog hunt - SC, TN, GA?
« on: December 05, 2010, 04:00:15 PM »
Howdy all,
Looking to do some hog hunting for the first time next year.  I would like opinions on outfitters / preserves in the coastal south that others have tried.  Prices would be helpful too.  We plan to have about 4-5 of us making the trip.  Prefer to rifle hunt.  Thanks for any help!

Clarkrange Hunting Lodge in TN gets nothing but great reviews. I don't know exactly what you are looking for but its a high fence hunt.  I think its $675 which includes one hog and 3 nights lodging.  There are no meals included but the lodging comes with an equiped kitchen and their are resturaunts in the area.

If you want a free range hunt with dogs, there is Appalachia Adventures / Cherokee Guide Service which is around $300 a day with a 3 day minimum.  Of course, with the economy the way it is, you might be able to negotiate.

wvcruffler,
Dido on Clarkrange, TN. Ken Moody runs a good operation there. I hunted there with my T/C WhiteMtn carbine black powder and had a great time. It's very basic, you cook or go to town to eat. It's rustic but clean. I hunted with a guide and 1 dog, Angus was the dog, he was great. For additional fees you get butchering on site. Hope this helps.

Wilderness hunting lodge in TN. Nice place good food. You could take atv's when I hunted there . They clean and wrap your hog and mount the head if you wish.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
