24/7 OSS 45
« on: June 19, 2008, 02:52:23 PM »
I found one and liked the grip feel and trigger so I bought it.
I have a 1911 Taurus  clone and have been very happy shooting it. 2000 rounds and no problem.
24/7 one shot and trigger wont reset, must push trigger forward manually and it fires.
You can dry fire and no problem.  Happens only when slide is cycled with trigger held back. I  called Taurus  after owning the pistol for three hours and they are to have Federal Express pick up tomorrow.
Any thoughts other than dont buy Taurus.
Big time sucks.

Fedex dropped off the Taurus today at 1pm.  Not a bad time for a turn around from factory.  Went at once to range and fired 75 rounds, all I can say is WOW this is the most accurate 45 I have ever fired excepting extensively modified 1911's or megabuck factory pistols.
Best ten shot group with 230's was less than 2 1/2 inch @ 25 yards of bench using no sandbags just resting forearms on concrete.
Very Happy
Shoot often and straight

I had a 24/7 40 caliber and fired over 1750 rounds and one stovepipe at about 1200 some rounds.  I traded it for a glock cuz I had several glock holsters and accessories.  I got the 24/7 when it first came out and it was difficult to find any accessories for it.  All in all I enjoyed the pistol.

Just purchased 24/7 OSS in a 40. I put 200 rounds through it and it shot only ok with no FTF or FTE. I took a Concealed Carry class on the 22nd of Nov. A fellow firefighters Ruger was jamming and no one could quickly figure it out. I was shooting my EAA Polymer Witness in a 40 anyway and offered the use of my OSS. Man, that guy could shoot and when I tell you all the rounds in a nice tight hole. It was heart breaking and a joy at the same time. I wish I could shoot it that good. Anyway another 200 rounds through it with no FTF or FTE. I hope I can at least shoot it as well as my EAA with time. I've had several good comments on the gun. Overall, I like the fit and feel of the gun. Seaking of 45's, I ordered mine initially in 40 and came into the gun store as a 45. I have several 40's and reload for this platform. It was very hard to turn the 45 down. I do have 45 reloading dies already that were given to me. If I keep enjoying the gun I may have to consider the 45.
