4350 variations

Considering dabbling with one of these, H4350-IMR4350-XMR4350 What do you use and why? What is the difference? Would the Extreme Hodgdon be the best choice for uniform temp sensitivity?

I've used both the Hodgdon and IMR with excellent results. Can't say one is any better than the other.

All 3 of those powders are close to the same burn rate , I use mostly H and IMR because that is what I can find locally , is one better than the other - sometimes yes , sometimes no , it mostly depends on the cartridge and bullet selection .

Working up loads with a powder that I may not have axcess to again just never worked out well for me .  :o >:( ::) ???

I've used a LOT of both H and IMR, but i ALWAYS use the one recommended by the bullet maker reloading manual, for the bullet i'm using.

I have used them all. Right now I am using AA 4350 the most because I got a deal on 10lbs a while back. The same load with IMR and AA shoots the same in my 25-06. The AA is usually a little less expensive than the others.

Thanks for the info guys. Just starting to dabble in extruded powder for a recently aquired rifle. One of the sources I checked with listed all three with very similar charge weights for the most part.

DM Thanks as well. Looks like we can ALWAYS count on you for information as in this case you have used LOTS of two of the afore mentioned propellants.  ;D

I have used nothing but AA for the last 15 years.  Started using it because it was less expensive than the others.  AA4350 and a 165gr Sierra boattail is just Magic in my .30-06.  Wouldn't think of using anything else.
