This rifle is no longer available at many online retailers. Has it been pulled from the shelves or discontinued?

Yes, Savage discontinued the 10ML II back in October. It's done!

I have had mine for 5 or 6 years now, and I am glad I got it, and will not get rid of it.. Shoots great, and I have killed a bunch of deer with it... Wish I would of bought 2 or 3 of them now.. I got a back up breech plug, and a bunch of vent lines as well..

I thought about getting another since some are available. Decided against it. I think it would be hard to wear one out.

Redhawk,

Have you ever fired cast + sabots in your Model 10?

Cheese,
I was shooting some 45 cal, 300 gr. hard cast bullets in MMP sabots, and the gun did real well as far as accuracy.  Once I found the Precision Rifle Dead Centers I stuck with them.. I am using the Precision Rifle 260 dead centers. My gun  almost shoots them as well as any of my rifles.  So once I found a load, and bullet that gave me a 2 inch or better group at 100 yards, I stopped playing with loads. But I know I can use the 300 gr. hard cast as well, if I want a bullet to punch through a tough animal.

If you use the 45 cal bullets get the black sabot, that is the one Savage recommends.. I can give you the powder and load I was using if you would like that as well? http://www.mmpsabots.com/

I am using MMP's for both .452 and .458 bullets now and would be interested in what you use.
