« on: December 13, 2010, 03:24:42 AM »
ok i missed a basket rack 6 point last thursday about 40 or 50 yrds i was using a encore 44mag 15 in. brl with a bushnell 2x6 trophy scope the buck came in i pulled the scope cap pulled the gun up and there it was a big snow flake on the eye lens as i was cleaning it off watching the buck watching me got the scope on him squeezed the trigger he jumped right before it went off just missed him was good to get shot but the season is over so on the 26th the flintlock season comes in and im ready to try it again hope to see some deer i love the whole pour set push prime thing alot more than just stuffing a shell into it i find my self hunting more in flintlock season than any other season other than treerats its my favorite season love the big cloud of smoke my buddys dont get the whole flint thing they say to much hassle and it dont always go off i think thats the fun of it if you dont take the time to do it right its not going off i love it going to let my buddy barrow my extra flint gun ill make him some speed loads i hope he takes care of it i told him shoot it every time he loads it clean it every time he shoots it if not dont barrow it then i told him to bring it down every time he shoots it and we will clean it together  hes only 5 minutes from me  till i see he is doing it right maybe he will learn how to do it right and buy one ill have another flint hunting buddy he asked me if he was going to buy a flint what would i recomend i told him to look at the firestorm if i had the money i would buy one just for the ease of cleaning and you can use pellets in it my one flint hunting buddy has one and he loves it it dont shoot any better than my lammanated  buckskinner carbine but boy cleaning it is a dream with the removable breach plug  ;D
