Shotgun Barrel on SB2 - Different Forearm Needed?
« on: December 22, 2010, 03:05:15 AM »
I'm planning to send my only Handi, an SB2 7mm-08 standard profile barrel, off to be fitted with a 22" 243 barrel and a 22" youth 20 ga. barrel for my nephew to use.  Will I need another forearm for the shotgun barrel?  Thanks.  -WSJ

Ya know, that's a question.  I've changed so many barrels and stocks around in the past few years, and I can't tell you for sure.  I think I'd call H&R customer service to ask for sure.  I don't think there's any problem with the 20 ga., but don't rely on that.  Good luck.

Thanks.  The H&R website says to call for availability so I'll ask to confirm the fit then.

I really prefer to have separate forearms for my swap barrel set ups. You can shim the forearms to the right frame fit for each and they are cheap enough. The ideal is a gun of each, and shotguns are SOOOO cheap on the used market, why not just buy one? I think you would ultimately be glad you did.
