I'm P.O.ed Can't ship ammo to Michigan?

I just tried to order .500 S&W ammo from Sportsmans Guide.  They had a good price, and I had 20 dollars worth of coupons.  They tell me they can't ship to Michigan.  When did this stupidity happen?  I've gotten ammo from them frequently in the past.  To say the least, I'm ticked off and want to find how and why this happened.  Has anyone got any info?

Not to make this into a SG bashing thread. But I stopped shopping there over a year ago beacause of stupidity like this.

Sorry Pete, Do you have what you need to start loading this?

Yes, thank you CW, the bullets and brass should be here this afternoon.  I'm gonna use the 20 dollar coupons and then I'm done with them too.  The first stupid answer was it was pistol ammo, the second was it was armor piercing.....yeah...sure.  I talked to MagTek, nice people.  They jumped right intp it and called me back this morning.  I think it is probably ironed out, but I don't care at this point, I have the components coming.

never heard of that. Ive had ammo and loading components shipped to my place for years and never had a problem

I've had a couple of calls from Jason, at our State Representative's office, Foster, and he assures me there is no reason they can't ship the ammo.  He also assured me that his office would make sure official State letters would be sent to that effect to correct the problem if it persisted.  It is really good to know your Representive's office is working on maintaining your rights......and keeping you updated.

An update:  I just checked Sportsmans Guide, and the .500 ammo is still banned for shipping to Michigan, both on their website and customer service.  I called Jason, and he's getting the proper official State letters sent.  It is not a major personal problem, but it is an additional infringement on our rights.
