Value of a 637 pro?
« on: April 08, 2012, 02:04:06 AM »
I have a 637 pro, ported that I took in to Gander Mountain to possibly trade. The clerk told me they could only get $290 for it RETAIL! Where have you ever seen a slightly used smith for that price?!? I didn't even ask how much they would give me for it, I was laughing too hard.  I know if I traded it in and stopped in the store the next day it would have been tagged with a much higher price. This model has been discontinued, how can I find what it's really worth? I've seen them new going for about $600.

That is much like the Sig 239  with both .40 and .357sig barrels that i wanted totrade for another---they offered $350.
I could get that much at a pawn shop---they would sell it for $650.
I could stand outside a gun show and get 5/550.
I understand profit & greed.

I brought in a Weatherby Vanguard youth in 243 Winchester new unfired to Gander Mountain in Marquette, MI. They offered me $300, so I said no thank you and sold it on Gunbroker for $450.00.

I'm just going to keep it. I need to get over the guilt I feel for the redundancy in my gun safe!  :-[  So I decided to "treat" the 637 to a new set of Pachymar grips,  was never wild about the factory grips. Very nice, life is good!
