Crossman CO2?

Put a bid in on a rebuilt vintage rebuilt Crosman 160. from a guy who lives in IL. This is what I really wanted.

  Congratulations.  Perserverence and research to the rescue.  I'm glad you found what you really want and found it in a way that the State of Illinois is OK with  .

  This guy   http://www.crookedbarn.com/  is big into vintage Crosman stuff.  There may or may not be much of it on his sight on any given day, but he is into them.  He has seals, valves and so forth for a lot of older Crosmans.  Hopefuly you won't be needing any of that since you found a reworked one, but it's worth writing down his number and/or bookmarking his page.  If you are going to use a vintage gun, you need to know where to find parts.  IIRC, he does service too.  He can take a while to get ahold of, but he's good people.

Shot the 160 against the old 66. Both with lead pellets. The 66 penetrates better in tin cans, but the 160 is Easier to shoot. I still might get a Chinese to soup up.

I ordered a used stock from GPC today. that should take care of the butt plate. I may change the sights later. The GPC stock has dings. Someone refinished mine before adding a butt pate that doesn't fit. I may try souping it up a little later, but I'm happy with the accuracy & feel.
