I confess I'm guilty..... ::). I have painted a few blued guns......where I now reside we get about 200 inches of rainfall and that combined with the saltwater spray makes a painted gun very practical. The right paint lasts a lot longer than a blued gun.
Stainless, you say. Well all stainless is not created equal. I had a stainless synthetic weatherby rust overnight in a tent. And it wasn't even in the puddles of water on the tent floor. I set it on a box under my cot the driest place I could find. Of course I did ride all day in the rain on a wheeler with it. Wiped it off and stuck it under my cot for the night. In the morning rust was starting on several spots.
The guns I've painted with black epoxy spray paint hold up better than that.  >:( if you don't like a product just admit a preference but don't make it sound like the henry will fall apart because it has plastic sights. Lord knows I tried to break my glock but never could.

There aren't many companies offering .22 mag lever action. Local shop had a Ruger several years ago, but I had my heart set on a10/22 mag. Wish I would have tried to dicker.

I think the "brass" looks nice, but to heavy to carry around for a day, I prefer the light weight myself.  DP

It's not brass.  It's anodized aluminum which is better than painted aluminum I suppose.

the receivers are advertised as "Brass Castings"
on their commercials, if anyone finds out different,
that is false advertising and a class action lawsuit should be
filed.

That's on the centerfire models.

The website says "Brasslite" finish. I bet aluminum. Unless you can beat their MSR in the real world they are pricey.

Depends on the year. Late models are painted, even the stainless models.

I have no complaints about the painted finish on my Henry or my 10/22, they both look good to me and perform well. Of course they don't look as good as the TC Classic that I sold to my brother in law...  :)
