Pneumonia Again!

A few years back the doctor's told me that if I keep getting Pneumonia it would eventually kill me. Since then I've lost count of how many times I've had it. Think I'd have learned by now. Yep, you guessed it, I've got it again. Puts an end to this seasons outings such as muzzleloader season next week. So, anybody have any home remedies to help a guy get over it quick? Taking antibiotics, steroids, industrial strength cold pills and an inhaler. Not helping a lot so far. On top of heart meds and such I feel like a walking pharmacy.   Not complaining......well maybe a bit!

Thanks bud. I can sure use any help I can get. Prayers might just do the trick so very much apreciated. It's particularly dangerous to me because Agent Orange, and a few other toxic military cocktails, has wrecked my imune systom and lungs.

Prayers sent my friend, more to come. I took the pneumonia shot this year, first time ever, although my doc had reccomended it for years since the heart surgery. Last year I priced them and they were $45 at Kroger. This year I saved up for it and found they had kicked the price up to $70, I reckon to pay for their remodel. I didn't have $70, so I stopped in at our local County health dept and got it there, $10, yep, TEN BUCKS. Charlie.

It is trouble to do but you might try wearing a paper dust/painters mask with the metal nose strip across the bridge of the nose. If you wear glasses they help keep it in place. Fitted tight, clean shave, it will stop pollen and mold spores. Put paper tape on the staples at the rubber band attachments to seal. Hold up to light to check for thin spots.  (After a rain, mold spores especially on a cold front.)

A friend of mine kept getting pn each spring and fall. after many years of my warnings about allergy irritatiion and pnumonia she finally made the connection and avoids outside durring allergy season. No pnumonia since. Might not be your problen but thought I would tell you.

 I wear one in bow season due to rag weed allergy.  They are white so I cammo them with magic markers.

Thanks, that might just work. It sure couldn't hurt anyways. I'd been thinking along those lines myself so I'll sure give it a try. I truly apreciate the advice.

SpiritHawk: Brother, I feel for you and will pray also. The weird thing about Agent Orange and something that I have never figured out is this. I sprayed Agent Orange, along with several choppers in my unit. Being a lift ship unit, we were detailed for a lot of off the wall missions. Come back home and many GI's have AO from humpin' in the Boonies, But I on the other hand have no apparent symptoms of this stuff. Yet you had to breath some of it, I'm sure. The only symptom that could remotely qualify for me is stress. Of course that could come from having to deal with a lot Democrats and liberals. Who Knows.  God Bless to all.

This has worked for me a couple of times.

Try at your own risk.
Make some chicken soup with plenty of garlic, onion, carrots and celery in it and breath in the steam when it first starts boiling, a towel over your head helps but don't burn yourself,  and keep it up until you break a sweat. Work sitting on a stool so you won't give out and/or faint. When the soup is done wrap up good and sit up in a chair and sip some of the soup while you sweat. Stayl warm while you dry off.

I use rose hips , yarrow leafs and root, ginger root to make a tea and drink a cup a day= no colds

Garlic and lots of it, pickle juice (brine) , vinegar, honey, and natural anti biotic like those. I have a thing about Black Mold and I erradicate it from houses., I would test your house unless you already know you have mold? Can you ever smell a moldy musty smell? any? If so you prob should ventilate the house right away and always.. There are heat exchangers that will change the air in your house many times a day instead of just dumping your air and heat outside.  Sometimes the mold is outside and inside and you have to move. Did your house ever flood or have a sump back up? Look into this if your chronic. Good luck.

+10 on what Powderman, Blindear (how in heck did you get that name?), Torpedoman and Oldsoldja say. My Doctor at VA is South Korean and staunchly supports my choice. For years I would have SERIOUS colds that bordered/were Flu for months. Once I started on herbal homeopathic alternate medicine, I barely get colds any more. this year I have had one for about a week due to my own stupidity of allowing myself stress and little rest. Back on the regimen of rest and natural foods and herbs, I am almost over it and feel good. Years ago I had Double Pneumonia twice, 2 years running. that is when I started to pay serious attention to the Herbal treatments, supplements and foods. About the worst I get now is the sniffles and Grumpy. Doesn't last very long either.

Also, What TM7 says about the pillows and linens is dead on. I went that way and experienced a BIG improvement in day to day life. God Bless to all.

Dust mites can be killed by simply putting the pillows in the dryer for 20- 30 min. We do it about once a month. POWDERMAN.
