Why politician's statements should be doubted...

  Don't be a sucker and take statements made by congresspersons at face value. Just remember, you must search their statements for hidden agendas. They can be very crafty in their speech.  Dick Morris revealed on national TV that staffers working for congress members can have their federal loans written off.  That sounded a bit fishy to the Beaufort, NC newspaper so they contacted their congressman, asking him if this were true.

     Notice how the congressman answers their inquiry (about paragraph #4).
   ...essentially, loans are not paid by the taxpayer..but congress persons have a "recruiting tool" which pays the loans off...DUH :P  So, I guess the loans are not paid by the taxpayer..but by a "recruiting tool"..UUhhh ;) :D

   I guess the  lesson is, never believe the surface statement by a congress person until you have 'parsed' every word...and you may need a lawyer to do so...

   So we can see the great concern some congressmen have for our burdensome taxes. :-*

No concern on their part. They see our burdensome taxes as their money. One of my favorite statements coming from the big spenders is, "This tax cut will cost X amount of dollars. They make this statement insinuating its their money.

Exactly what Ive been thinking all along. It doesnt cost them anything if the money wasnt theirs to start with.
 Just like us in the bad economic times, the less you make, the less you should spend. Its all their money all they decide is how much of THEIR money they will allow you to kept.
