STOCKS: WOOD VS SYNTHETIC
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:42:54 AM »
The prices are the same for the T-Bolt--Synthetic vs Wood.
General opinion----which do you prefer, wheather it be this gun or generally, any rifle?

i prefer wood on brownings especially, they always seem to come with nice wood or the ones i have had.ive also noticed that in the used market, guns with nice wood seem to have higher resale value.if i was in a wet climate or going on a expensive hunt in a wet climate.i would definitely consider a synthetic stocked rifle. for a truck gun or a heavy use gun i dont care about the resale id git one also.its all about personal preference.

I am equally divided.  I think I have five of each.  As far as accuracy, I really can't tell a difference.  Accuracy is mostly from barrel cleaning, trigger adjustment and control, and shooter skill.  Confidence is probably the greatest factor of all.

I know this is an old topic...but, on Brownings, I love the wood they use and prefer them over synthetic stocks.
I live in Idaho where it is usually dry so the damp climate blues don't appy here.  In fact I just put an A Bolt Medallion w/ a 26" ( 270 WSM) barrel on layaway.  It has a beautiful wood stock with rosewood grip caps and forearm cap.  I am sure it will shoot as good as it looks.

Browning wood is bright and flashy for hunting I like their syn stocks . For range work or clays their wood is nice.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
