Safe door Contender barrel organizer
« on: December 27, 2010, 12:12:47 PM »
I have a small Sentry gun safe.Reason I bought it was going to put it in a closet.Plus the stairs it had to go up is a tight fit.Just installed the Store More Guns system and it helped out tremendously. Was able to add another shelf and tidy my whole safe up.Was able to cram in 3 more guns neatly in fact. Now I am looking into a way of making something to hold my Contender barrels to the inside of the door.Since it is a small safe they can't be in horizontal positon.Don't like the idea of peg board and anything velcro.Looking for somethng compact and secure. Not worried about it being custom because I am handy enough to make it.Just looking for ideas.

don't know if this will work, but this popped in my head. How about the shoe organizer that hang on your closet door?

Straight peg board hangers if you want to hang them down (maybe a thick towel for cushion) or a set of hooked peg board hangers for horizontal storage.

How many barrels and what length are we talking about?  I think JoeRobbins has the right idea. That is what i did with mine.
I put pieces of plactic tubing over the hooks to keep from scratching the barrels. Put the hook through the pin hole on the barrel. If they hang crooked add another hook down by the end of the barrel to straighten them up. The lower pin just rests against the side of the barrel.

Sorry about my picture posting I was having alot of trouble with this site.If you click on the first image it will come up bigger. If you click on the blue highlighted image the picture should come up.This is what I made and it works good.As you can see my safe is small. The barrel on the right is a carbine barrel. They are safely secured and easy to access. All of my barrels have the rail for the Pachmyer fore-end.So that also helps support things.
