USH 20ga harvests it's first deer.
« on: November 20, 2010, 12:34:53 PM »
I finally got a chance to get out today, the last day of our early shotgun season. The hunt lasted about 10 minutes. Walked down the old woods road behind the house and right were the deer always are they were  again. I picked a mature doe and made the shot off-hand at about 80 yards. The old girl ran about 80 yards and called it quits. I didn't get the heart this time. She was a fine mature doe and the skinner were I took her to get butchered said it was one of the bigger he'd seen lately. I was shooting a 20ga USH with a simmons 4X fixed, firing 2 3/4"federal premium with the barnes expander. I took about a 3 hour walk this morning and didn't have a shot that Iwas sure about with the iron sites old my old topper deluxe slug that's why I took the USH20 out this afternoon. I'm having my processor make some salami this time. Can't wait! Good luck to you guys out there.

I didn't plan on an off hand shot but I didn't even get to my stand.

What kind of 20 gauge USH hunter is that, interms of model number.  My brother is thinking about getting an USH hunter in the form of a 20 and I trying to do some research for him.  I have the 12 gauge USH with the Nikon BDC 200 reticule scope and get 6 inch groups at 200 yards, so

What scope would you recommend for a 20 USH?

Is this gun powerful enough to kill a deer at 200 yards?

Have you ever used the new Cabela's shotgun scope or have heard anything good about?
