M1 Carbine stock question
« on: December 26, 2010, 03:38:54 PM »
Does any know the approximate value of one of those vintage Fajen Mannlicher stocks (in good shape) for the M1 Carbine?
  Thanks, Mike

No offense, but most Carbine guys that I know are more concerned with getting the "correct" stock for their carbine that they could care less about something like that.

Do you have one for sale?  If so, please PM me with condition and particulars.

I wouldn't give more than $50 or $60 bucks for one, unless it had some exceptional wood, and good lines to it.  I've got one that looks blonde, with rosewood forend tip and grip cap, deeply hooked grip and rollover cheekpiece.  I let the grandkids play army with it.  I've got another one with fairly conservative lines, nicely figured and colored black walnut, that has a polished/blued Winchester in it, and it'd take a fair bit of coin to get that one from me!
In reality, value is what someone is willing to give for it.
I told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. "Make your life go here, son. Here's where the people is. Them mountains is for Indians and wild men." "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline

Thanks,
I ended up selling it several months ago for $50 I think.
