First moose shed of the year!
« on: December 04, 2010, 04:50:59 PM »
On November 6th the wife and I were out looking for a whitetail for me to shoot and I'll be darn if the misses didn't stumble on a fresh moose shed.  It was dropped in the nite sometime.  Not huge but a decent bull.  We couldn't find the other side anywhere near.  I have never heard of a moose dropping this early, have any of you?

Where were you? i've always wanted to find a moose shed.

We were about a mile and a half up No Tellum creek, we found it under the 3rd tree on the right, it was laying next to the big rock. ;D  I live in N. Idaho, it is almost impossible to go in to the woods without seeing moose or moose sign.  They can be fund from the Snake all the way north to the Canadian border.  If your serious about finding an antler check old brushed in clear cuts, these act like moose magnets.  Good Luck.
