Chalk 1 to the Handi
« on: November 03, 2012, 08:45:07 AM »
As some of you know I got my first Handi chambered in .308 last week. I am very pleased with it, and fortunate to have had excellent results with the first box of ammo I tried through it. Core Lokt 150gr.  Took a doe at 75 yards with her yesterday morning. Good luck to all this season!

75, 75, 75YARDS.  OMGosh, you should have backed up a couple of hundred yards before making that shot.

Just rattling your cage, good shot.  A week is hardly time to sight it in.  Keep it up there should be minny more for you and your Handi.  Sounds like a time for Groundhogs now.  Load up some 110gr bullets (less recoil) and go fo it.  Good practice

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I guess you don't know I live in Georgia. We hunt our beloved whitetails in pine thickets, swamps, creek bottoms, and hardwood stands.  We rarely get long shots. I do hunt a gas line with my brother, there I have up to 400 yard shots, but the Model 70 300WSM goes with me there.  Groundhogs? LMAO they don't exist here. We hunt squirrels, with .22's.

Thought we didn't have grounghogs in Alabama either until one wandered across the shooting range one day.
Apparently he didn't know what "Range is hot" meant.
Groundhogs are open year round here, but so few and far between, nobody fools with them.

110 Vmax would be a good coyote round. Made some up for my 30-06.

Well I didn't see it stickied and no one else seemed to have a problem with it being posted here. Please forgive my serious breech of protocol. If it's that important, maybe you can go post it there for me.
