« on: January 13, 2011, 02:32:13 PM »
im just wondering here, but the brass is easy to come by unlike the 445supermag.dies are available.should be about the same performance as the supermag.im just wondering if this would be another option.i ran across gary reeders web page an it has peeked my interest.im kind of getting into lever guns an thinking this would be a great caliber for my rossi m92 or the 410GNR,so that got me to thinking wouldnt this work for the handi crowd too

Is Starline out of 445 Super Mag brass?  If so, and if it's permanent, i.e. discontinued, then yes, the 429 GNR would provide similar case capacity in a shorter cartridge.  If not, I would wait and use 445 Super Mag.  You can use 44 Mag dies.

A Reeder GNR rifle rechamber will cost $200 or more, if that includes dies, it's not too bad, but if dies are on top of that, I'd do the 445 by hand and wait for the Starline or use 303 brass, 44mag dies work fine for the 445.
