Reloading Cabinets Amost Fell Of the Wall
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:21:23 AM »
Had so much lead in two wall cabinets that they were pulling the cabinets aparts at the top and off the wall.  Had to install angle braces along the outsides of two adjacent cabinets, then bolt the cabinets together in the middle.
Also tied the top to the wall.  Fortunately my shop has plywood walls rather tha sheet rock.

Can't imagine the sound those falling cabinet might have made in the middle of the night.  I bet a lot of reloaders have stessed their wall mounted cabinets with too many pounds of bullets.

After doing remodeling of both my bathrooms a number of years ago I took the old double door sink cabinets  and used them for storage and as a base for my new loading bench. I took a sheet of 1/2 plywood and ripped it down the middle long ways and placed one sheet on top of the other to make a table top 1" thick 2' wide and 8' long. I built a 2x4 frame on top of the cabinets that were placed on the ends and placed the plywood top on them and screwed them together. On one end of the table I have two wood shelving units that hold bullets. It is all pretty solid. I store powder in one cabinet and brass and other loading tools in the other cabinet. I have shelves on the wall that hold all my loading dies. I need to get some more shelves or cabinets to store loaded ammo in though.

use ammo can to store ammo, they stack, easier to move and you can write all over them what is in them. Black sharpie and a little spray carb cleaner to make any changes.
