Question re: Rossi single shots
« on: March 01, 2011, 10:58:52 AM »
I know that there are different models of Rossi single shot rifle & shotguns. The Rossi website shows: Wizard (single shots), Rossi single shot rifles, and Rossi single shot shotguns. They all look like they're built on the same frame.
The Wizards selling point is barrel interchangeability.
My question is, are all the barrels interchangeable between the models?
If so what is the difference?

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

The short answer is no not all barrels are interchangeable with all receivers.   Earlier Rossi single shot rifles and shotguns had at least three different size or configured receivers (small, medium and large frame I believe and I am not sure if shotguns and rifles used the same receivers or not so matching barrels and frames is quite complicated with the older guns.  You have to match barrels of the appropriate caliber with the appropriate sized receiver.   A .30-30 barrel may require a medium sized receiver for instance.  Even if they barrel and receiver are appropriate some hand fitting may still be required.

The Wizard is a newer and entirely different animal.  If I am not mistaking (Somebody please correct me if I'm off base here.) all Wizard barrels and receivers interchange.
