whats the Pros and cons of nickle brass over Brass "Brass"?

Appearance?  That's the only reason I have purchased them.  Or to distinguish between different loads.  They are kind of pretty!

They are pretty but they'll also dull certain case trimmer cutters VERY fast.  When I trim nickel plated cases, I use trim dies.

I find in my use the plain brass last longer.

I didn't like reloading the Nickle brass, because I had trouble with it shaving the bullet as it was being seated. One of my shooting buddies loves them, he uses a 25 degree reamer and the bullets go it without shaving. What he like about them is the corrosion protection of the nickle while elk hunting in the rain in Western Oregon.

pro's they don't turn green on a crtg. belt. some claim they feed better in auto's
con's COST MORE, some say they are harder on dies and cutters , once fired and cleaned a few times they look bad and polishing won't put the nickle back.

I have never been impressed by the nickel plated brass, and any that I own I have procured for free.

That nickel plating is quite hard--and quite hard on the cutters of case trimmers, unless you happen to have a carbide cutter.  I much prefer regular brass, and won't reload rifle ammo with the nickel kind at all.

 I have some loads segregated with nickle plated brass. It allows easy visual I.D. of the load that goes in a particular gun. Then that nickle plated brass is rotated back for loading for the same gun.

The only advantage for me is that I have a 7-30W Contender pistol and a 7-30W Contender carbine.  I reload 7-30W Federal brass in nickle for the pistol.  I resize 30-30 brass cases to 7-30W for use in the carbine.  This allows me to know which ammo is charged for which firearm.

I prefer working with brass myself.

Been loadin both for over 40 years. Haven't really noticed a difference in longevity of either over the other, or performance difference. When buying brass I would usually opt for the brass simply because I prefer it, but it is more preference in my old head than any other real reason. AND, I am talking pistol brass not rifle.

The nickel-plated 30/06 and 243 brass I have bought seems to separate after only a few firings. I won't buy any more...ever.

The only nickle I have ever messed with was pistol mostly .38 and .357 mag.  I have never had to trim a straight walled pistol case so have not encountered the problem with the trimmers.

I plan on purchasing 500 nickle 45 colt rounds when Midway gets them back in stock, predicted to be in mid February.

Doing it so the 45 colt is way easy to tell from 44 mag without looking too closely.

Where do you get nickle 7X30 brass ?

I prefer the nickle plated in my 308 brass. No difference in the way it shoots, I just prefer the look of it. That and it doesn't tarnish.
